What is PD Warrior?

The PD Warrior program is a neuro-active exercise program that combines high-effort movements with targeted brain training. Unlike standard fitness programs, it focuses on training both the brain and the body. These exercises stimulate neuroplasticity, the brain’s natural ability to form new neural connections, helping participants maintain functional movement and protect neural pathways affected by Parkinson’s.

 

At its core, the program includes 10 carefully designed exercises that target strength, balance, coordination, and posture. These exercises are performed with intensity and repetition, ensuring that each movement reinforces proper neural and muscular patterns. By engaging the brain and body simultaneously, participants can slow symptom progression while improving everyday function.

How the Program Helps

The program is designed to suit a variety of abilities and stages of Parkinson’s. It begins with an initial consultation, where a physiotherapist assesses your movement, balance, strength, and functional abilities. This one-on-one session ensures that exercises are tailored specifically to your needs.

After your consultation, you will move into individual exercise sessions, where you learn and master the 10 core exercises under expert guidance. These sessions focus on proper technique, safety, and consistency, allowing you to build confidence in your movements.

Once you are comfortable, you can join group classes. These sessions reinforce the exercises learned in physiotherapy, provide motivation, and offer valuable social support. Training in a group environment helps participants maintain consistency, stay engaged, and connect with others on the same journey.
