General Physiotherapy Services

At Wellers Hill Physiotherapy, we’re passionate about helping you move better, recover faster, and feel your best. Our expert team provides a wide range of physiotherapy services tailored to your unique needs. Whether it’s preventing injuries, rehabilitating after setbacks, or creating a personalised treatment plan, we’re here to guide you every step of the way—so you can get back to the activities you love, stronger and healthier.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is one of the core physiotherapy services offered at Wellers Hill Physio, involving skilled, hands-on techniques used by our physiotherapists to assess, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal pain and movement restrictions.

These techniques may include joint mobilisation, soft tissue release, muscle stretching, and targeted pressure to specific areas of tension. These hands-on treatments help restore normal joint movement, improve tissue flexibility, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

Manual therapy can help reduce pain, improve joint mobility, decrease muscle tension, and assist with faster recovery following injury. It is often combined with personalised exercise programs and rehabilitation strategies to achieve the best long-term outcomes.

This treatment is commonly included in our physiotherapy treatment for conditions such as back and neck pain, joint stiffness, sports injuries, muscle strains, and post-surgical rehabilitation, helping patients return to normal daily activities, work, and sport with greater confidence and comfort.

Dry Needling

During this treatment, fine sterile needles are carefully inserted into the affected muscle to stimulate a local twitch response, helping to release tight muscle fibres and restore normal muscle function.

As part of our physiotherapy services, dry needling can help:

  • Improve range of motion and flexibility

  • Reduce local and referred pain

  • Restore normal muscle function and strength

Dry needling differs from traditional acupuncture, as it is based on Western anatomical and neurophysiological principles and focuses specifically on treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction.

At Wellers Hill Physio, dry needling is offered within our comprehensive physiotherapy services and is often used alongside other treatments and exercise programs to support recovery from a wide range of conditions, helping patients regain mobility, strength, and comfort.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound therapy is a non-invasive treatment offered at Wellers Hill Physio. It uses high-frequency sound waves to promote healing in soft tissues and support recovery from musculoskeletal injuries.

During treatment, a small handheld device is applied to the skin, delivering sound waves that penetrate deep into the tissue. Sessions typically last 5–10 minutes and are tailored to each patient as part of our physiotherapy services.

As part of these services, ultrasound therapy can help to:

  • Promote soft tissue healing

  • Increase blood flow

  • Reduce inflammation

  • Break down scar tissue and adhesions

  • Improve flexibility and mobility

It is commonly included in our physiotherapy services for conditions such as muscle strains, ligament sprains, tendon injuries, and joint stiffness. While ultrasound has been used in physiotherapy for many years, modern research shows it is most effective when combined with active rehabilitation exercises as part of a comprehensive treatment plan rather than as a standalone therapy.

Taping

Therapeutic taping is designed to support injured muscles and joints while still allowing safe and effective movement and can be added as a part of our services.

Depending on the specific condition, your physiotherapist may use rigid sports tape for stability or elastic kinesiology tape to enhance muscle function and movement patterns. Taping helps reduce strain on injured tissues, improve joint alignment, and support proper biomechanics during daily activities, exercise, or sport.

Beyond providing stability, therapeutic taping can also help reduce swelling, alleviate pain, and assist in preventing further injury. Combined with other physiotherapy services, taping plays a key role in accelerating recovery, enhancing performance, and promoting long-term musculoskeletal health.
